Motorists were left fuming in long tailbacks today after an overturned car blocked the busy A34 at Chilton, near Didcot.

The Volkswagen Polo travelling southbound spun out of control and came to rest on its roof blocking one lane and going into the other.

Police were called to remove the car but not before queues had built up southbound for up to six miles.

The driver of the car, who has not been named, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, for a check up.
