TV star Anne Diamond's husband landed up in a police cell for the night after a domestic bust-up.

Mike Hollingsworth, 52, who split from 44-year-old Anne last month, was arrested for refusing a breath test after driving to a police station in Reading, Berkshire on Saturday night.

The former TV executive - sporting a black eye - had gone to the police station with his new partner, Virgin radio DJ Harriet Scott, 26, to report an 'altercation'.

He is said to have driven from a nearby hotel where he had been staying since leaving Anne and their four boys at their former home in Cuddesdon, Oxfordshire. Mr Hollingsworth refused to comment last night but Ms Diamond issued a statement through her solicitor saying: "She has no idea what the domestic incident involved and it certainly did not involve her."

Inspector Jim Trotman of Thames Valley Police said: "Mr Hollingsworth was arrested after coming in to report a domestic incident and he was charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath."

He was bailed to appear before magistrates on November 30.

Recently, Mr Hollingsworth branded his nine-year marriage to Ms Diamond 'a sham' saying they had not had sex for three years. But the former TV breakfast presenter hit back saying 'He's behaving like a man having an affair.'

On the day of his arrest, Harriet Scott, Mr Hollingsworth's new love, spoke in public of their love, saying she did not feel she was 'stealing a husband' and 'did not feel guilty about the kids.'
