James Bond fan Geoff Pratchett is now the proud owner of the complete back catalogue of the secret agent films, writes NICK EVANS. Mr Pratchett, 36, of Farmington Drive, Witney, won the films in a competition on Chris Evans' Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio.

The carrot-topped DJ asked listeners to name the car 007 drove in the first Bond film, Dr No - and Mr Pratchett was straight on the phone with the answer of a Sunbeam Alpine.

"Luckily, I had just bought a copy of Jeremy Clarkson's new book, Planet Dagenham, which had the answer in it, and I happened to have the book to hand - not that Chris Evans was to know that," said Geoff, who works at Oxford Magnet Technology, in Eynsham.

"I obviously like watching the James Bond films and I won't be able to go far wrong now - I've got the lot."

This isn't the first time Geoff has struck lucky when it comes to the man licenced to kill. Last year he managed to get himself into the premiere of the latest Bond flick, Tomorrow Never Dies.

"It was all a fluke really. I wrote to Pinewood Studios and managed to get into a draw for tickets and then I was lucky enough to be drawn to go along to the film.

"My favourite Bond has to be Sean Connery, with Pierce Brosnan running Roger Moore close for second place, and my favourite film is Goldfinger - it's got some of the best lines." FIVE BOND FACTS YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW

*Thunderball - the fourth in the legendary Bond film series - was originally meant to be the first but got snarled up in litigation. It was later re-filmed as Never Say Never Again. Dr No was released as the first.

*The ninth Bond movie - Moonraker - cost as much as the first eight films put together.

*The Aston Martin DB5 - which graced Goldfinger - was sold at auction in 1986 for $275,000, the most paid, at that time, for a prop from a movie.

*Sean Connery - widely regarded as the finest movie Bond - turned down $5.5m. to play the character again in 1973's Live And Let Die.

*Diamonds Are Forever was released in Hong Kong as Man As Tough As Iron and Gold and Steel Uncovers The Gang Dealing With Diamonds In Hong Kong. GEOFF'S 007 CHOICES
