THE Ford Focus goes on sale on October 15 starting in price at £12,850 for the 1.6 and 1.8-litre Zetec three-door models and the 1.4-litre five-door CL.

All 28 models in the Ford Focus range will feature standard driver and passenger airbags and low insurance ratings.

The Ford Focus is available in three-door, four-door, five-door and estate bodystyles and four distinct specification levels: CL, Zetec, LX and Ghia. All Ford Focus models have driver and passenger airbags; power steering; central locking; body-coloured bumpers; power front windows; Safeguard, Passive Anti-Theft System; adjustable steering column and driver seat height adjustment and a 12-year anti-perforation warranty.

Four option packs will be available for the Ford Focus - Reflex, Styling, Climate and Luxury. The £500 reflex pack includes an electronic anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, side airbags and traction control.

The styling pack, which features 15in alloy wheels and metallic paint; and the climate pack - CFC free air conditioning, Quickclear heated front windscreen and heated power mirrors - are also priced at £500 each.

Leather trim, power rear windows and 'global' closing are included in the £1,500 luxury pack. Buyers choosing the range-topping Ford Focus 2.0-litre Ghia have a choice of four or five-door models priced at £15,350 on-the-road. Standard specification includes air conditioning, anti-lock brakes and traction control and a CD autochanger.
