Tonight, Scotland will be cloudy with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle spreading eastwards. This will be preceded by snow on the hills, but the drizzle will become confined to western slopes and coasts by morning, and it will turn milder. Wales, Northern Ireland and northern and western England will become cloudy with occasional outbreaks of drizzle. South east England and East Anglia will be cold with a slight frost and clear spells at first, but temperatures will rise during the second half of the night as cloud and local drizzle moves in from the west.

Tomorrow, Scotland and Northern Ireland will be mild but windy and mostly cloudy with occasional drizzle over western coasts and hills during the morning, but steadier and more widespread rain will move in from the north west during the afternoon. England and Wales will also be generally cloudy and breezy, the wind becoming gusty to the lee of the Pennines. Northern and western parts will see a little drizzle at times, chiefly over west-facing slopes and coasts. The best of any brightness will be in the south and east of England.

Outlook for Friday and Saturday: Friday will be breezy with wintry showers in Scotland and a spell of rain in southern England and Wales. It will stay breezy on Saturday with further showers, these again turning wintry over northern hills.
