ROVER has announced ten new additions to both the Rover 200 and Rover 400 ranges. Three distinctive themes are introduced to reflect different aspects of both vehicles.

The iS provides a sporting package, while luxury and comfort is presented by the iL models. Rover says the SEi models offer outstanding value for money.

Each of the three new derivatives are identified by distinctive wheels and unique trim combinations.

Prices of the new 200 models start at £10,995 for the 1.4 SEi three-door, while the 400 models start at £11,995 for the 1.4 SEi five-door.

Mumma Mia!

FIAT is launching a special edition of the Seicento city car called the Mia, which is based on the Seicento S with an exclusive interior trim and variety of exterior colours. A driver's airbag is standard on the car which is priced at £5,995 on the road.

Primera GT

NISSAN is introducing a limited edition Primera GT to celebrate the Vodafone Nissan Racing Team's victory in the manufacturers' and team's titles in last year's British Touring Car Championship. Both four and five-door models will be priced at £19,000 on-the-road and will have unique 16in alloy wheels, leather upholstery, Momo leather and aluminium gear knob, rear wash/wipe on the four-door model and metallic paint at no extra cost.

Audi's A6 gets a grip

PRICES for the new Audi A6 4.2 quattro have been confirmed as £43,398 for the saloon and £44,567 for the Avant version. The equipment list will mirror that of the 2.8 quattro, the current flagship of the range, but will add 17in alloy wheels, automatic five-speed Tiptronic transmission, leather upholstery and full electric front seat adjustment.

Cell power

BMW will be the first car maker to put a small series of cars on the road using a fuel cell battery to generate electricity in the vehicle. A number of hydrogen-powered 7 Series saloons will be equipped with them in time for next year's global EXPO 2000 Clean Energy project. After that the BMW 7 Series with a fuel cell battery could be launched for public sale.

Sports pack

THE BMW 530d is now available with a £1,590 sport option pack which includes 17in alloy wheels, clear lens indicators and black door trims. M sports suspension and sports seats are also included.
