KOREAN car maker Hyundai has unveiled a new bigger and safer Accent. Available in the UK early in 2000, the new Accent will be available as a three or five-door hatchback.

The new car has grown in length and width over the previous model and all models will be equipped with a number of new safety features including seatbelt pre-tensioners, a stiffer body shell and more powerful brakes. Prices will be revealed at the end of the year.

More than a Match

VOLKSWAGEN will continue to make the Polo Match - first intended as a summer-only model - until the end of the year, following demand from buyers. The car is priced from £7,995.

Attractive idea

Banbury car accessory maker Summit Automotive is marketing a magnetic licence holder, called Magnetax, which makes light work of changing your tax disc and can help prevent your passengers from lighting up. Using a self-adhesive magnetic ring, which sticks permanently to the inside of the windscreen, the licence holder comes with two different covers - either a stylish plain version or a 'no smoking' sign. It costs about £3.
