Striker Dwaine Strong has had a dramatic reprieve from a one-match ban and will play for injury-ravaged Oxford City in tonight's Oxfordshire Senior Cup final against old rivals Thame United at the Manor Ground (7.30).
Strong was due to be suspended from yesterday for persistent bookings, but at an FA hearing in Bristol yesterday the ban was lifted and he was warned as to his future conduct and fined 50.
"It's a big lift for us," admitted manager Paul Lee, whose squad has been decimated by injury to such an extent that he was today unable to name a squad.
Definitely out for the holders are striker Jason Davy (hamstring), midfielders Terry Sweeney (hamstring) and Gavin Rose (calf), and long term injury victim Matty Hayward. Richard Peirson (groin) and Julian Dark (calf) are rated very doubtful, while Tate Hulbert (shingles), Stewart McCleary (knees) and Justin Lee (groin) are all struggling.
Thame, who have posted 3-1 and 4-2 wins over City in Ryman Division 1 this season, have slight doubts about Ronnie Joe (knee) and John Mitchell (dead leg).
Joint manager Andy Sinnott, who will have one eye on how promotion rivals Maidenhead are faring at home to Romford, said: "We have had a good season, but good seasons are measured by winning things and we want some silverware."
