Former Oxford Union president Lucy Aitkens has launched an Internet recruitment firm exclusively for Oxbridge graduates.
The St Hilda's College student, who was accused of 'dumbing down' the debating society by inviting pop stars as guest speakers, has set up Oxbridgejobs.com.
Miss Aitkens recently joined nine graduates from Oxford and Cambridge to launch the Web site for employers and students to access a range of jobs targeted at graduates of the two universities.
There is already talk of it being floated on the Stock Exchange, following in the footsteps of fellow Oxford graduate Martha Lane-Fox, who co-founded shopping company Lastminute.com Non-Oxbridge graduates cannot use the service.
It has been funded by London-based DLA Recruitment Consultants, which has invested 1m for a 25 per cent stake. The other 75 per cent is owned by website staff.
Miss Aitkens, who controversially welcomed DJs Judge Jules and Chris Moyles and footballer David Ginola to the 117-year-old society, has taken a month's sabbatical.
Earlier this year she resisted attempts by Union colleagues to force her to resign following several newspaper interviews explaining why she had invited 'popular' figures to speak.
