Age was no barrier for the 25 windsurfing veterans who took to the water at Farmoor over the weekend.
Veterans such as Joyce Heywood, 72, were the guests of Oxford Sailing Club, and they proved that youngsters do not have all the fun.
Anybody above 35 is welcome to join the veterans' club to enjoy sports, races or just plain sailing.
The national club which has a substantial following in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire was formed 15 years ago and raises money for the charity Research Into Ageing.
Last year it contributed 3,000. Secretary Ruth Campbell said: "The club is for anyone who loves windsurfing as a sport or a hobby.
"Many of our members are well into their 60s, but age is no barrier to enjoying windsurfing.
"We sail on reservoirs or on the sea it doesn't matter to us.
"There's a minimum age limit of 35, but there's no upper limit at all."
Anyone interested in joining the Seniors and Veterans Windsurfing Association Seavets should contact Mrs Campbell on 01628 412510, or public relations officer Jean Fettes on 02086 577628. The group also has a Website seavets@compuserve.com for Net surfers.
