1. Rambert Dance Company perform three works at the Apollo Theatre, Oxford, from next Wednesday (May 10). Glen Tetley's Pierrot Lunaire and Embrace Tiger and Return to Mountain is joined by Ghost Dances by Christopher Bruce.

2. Bicester Choral and Operatic Society is singing Haydn's Creation at the Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday, May 13.

3. Two leading actors Peter Barkworth and Stephanie Cole delve into prose and poetry to create two evenings For All Occasions at the Oxford Playhouse next Tuesday and Wednesday (May 9 and 10). They are joined by musicians Clive Conway and Christine Croshaw for musical interlundes between the works of Joyce Grenfell, Willy Russell, Noel Coward and Siegfried Sassoon. 4. When watching the movie version of The Sound of Music, have you ever wanted to hiss the Baroness and boo the Nazis? Well, your chance comes with Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music at the Playhouse next Friday and Saturday (May 12 and 13).
The songs have been specially subtitled and audiences are encouraged not only to sing, hiss and boo, but to dress up in suitable costumes.

5. The English Concert gives the first of two Bach programmes at the Sheldonian, Oxford, next Thursday (May 11) at 8pm. Directed by Trevor Pinnock the baroque ensemble plays Bach's Orchestral Suites 2 and 3 and the Brandenburg Concertos 1, 3 and 4. The remaining Orchestral Suites and Brandenburgs are performed on June 2.
