An Oxford undergraduate will be taking part in an international scientific research project this summer after winning a NatWest Environmental Fellowship.
Rita Shaw, a second year physics student at St Hilda's College, will be joining volunteers with the charity Earthwatch on the project Forests of Bohemia, helping to monitor the damage to and helping the recovery from acid rain in the forests and watersheds of the Czech Republic. Rita, from Middlesex, said: "It's a fantastic opportunity to take part in an international scientific project dealing with some important issues. I've never been to the Czech Republic, so I'm looking forward to finding out more about the country and its people."
