Oxford United are advising supporters wanting to attend Monday's Mike Ford Testimonial at the Manor to buy tickets before the weekend if they can.

Although people will be able to pay cash at the turnstiles on the night to stand on the terracing, tickets priced 8 for adults and 5 for under 16s/over 65s are available in advance for all areas.

There are still seats available, but it is unlikely that any will be left on Monday.

Since United secured their second division status on Tuesday night, sales have soared towards the 4,000 mark. Fans are reminded that the kick-off is at the earlier than normal time of 7.30.

With Manchester United having a Premier League match at Villa Park the following weekend, their team is likely to consist of non first-team players.

Among the former Oxford stars who have confirmed they are coming are Matt Elliott, Phil Gilchrist, Stuart Massey, Phil Whitehead, Andy Melville, Jim Magilton and Paul Moody, though Moody's appearance could be subject to Millwall not reaching the play-offs.

Ford's friend, Jonathan Gould of Celtic, will also be there.

A great many items are being auctioned to raise money for Ford's testimonial fund. These include a signed Aston Villa Cup Final embroidered shirt, a signed Holland (away) national team shirt, a signed Middlesbrough shirt, plus two single tickets to Aston Villa v Manchester Utd and signed Everton and Leeds United footballs. An auction is running on this Web site (see link from This is United homepage) and will run for one week after the match.
