Oxfordshire went down 20-16 to Shropshire at Telford, but those 16 points ensured they stay in Division 3 of the Inter-Counties League again next year.
The ladies B game ended all square at 3-3 draw with Katrina Blackman taking lady of the match, while the men's B team lost 7-5, Mark Batsford winning man of the match.
Oxon went into Sunday's games trailing 10-8, but the ladies A team hit back to win 4-2, Clare Bywaters lady of the match. The outcome, therefore, depended on the men's A team battle and after four games, it was all square again following wins from Roger Haines and Kit Young.
However, only Ian Jarvis and man-of-the-match Joe Palmer, who won his clash in 13, 18 and 17 darts, could add to the tally as Oxon went down 8-4.
Sussex and Gwent gain promotion and Devon and Gwynedd were relegated, while next season, Oxon are joined by Bedfordshire and Wiltshire from Division 4 and Worcestershire and Somerset from Division 2.
