OXFORD Cheetahs' Czech youngster Lukas Dryml has suffered a suspected broken jaw after a crash in Poland at the weekend.

It means he will miss both Speedway Star KO Cup matches against Poole this week.

But the Oxford management have acted swiftly in securing the services of the popular Lawrence Hare, who was dropped from this year's squad in the close season.

Hare, now with Ipswich on a year's loan, was only too pleased to step in and help his old club out.

Promoter Steve Purchase has responded to speculation that he was dropping Roman Povazhny. He said: "I have made no secret of the fact that I am contemplating further changes all seven of the team know they are riding for their places.

"I received an approach from Wolverhampton for Povazhny and agreed they could talk to him with a view to him moving if he became available.

"If he does move, I have a rider in mind who is no stranger to Oxford."

That rider appears to be Australian Mark Lemon, who still lives at Bicester.

If that is the case, it could turn Oxford's fortunes around, coming hard on the heels of the recent signing of last year's Cheetahs' rider of the year Jan Staechmann.
