BRITISH Legion members countywide are preparing for their biggest event in years. Their tattoo on Thame Show ground will kick off the Thame 2000 festivities on June 17.
The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire branch of the Royal British Legion will have a full parade of standards from branches across both counties.
The Central Band of the Royal Air Force, the band of the Royal Green Jackets, the Adjutant General Corps band and Buddicote RBL Youth Band will provide the music separately through the day and together for the Beating The Retreat ceremony.
The Hawks parachute team will also be dropping in and there will be dog displays and many World War II vehicles and equipment.
All the proceeds go to the annual Poppy Appeal.
