THE emergency services were kept busy with a spate of minor accidents on the county's roads yesterday.

A man in his 80s was taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital after being struck by a taxi in Botley Road, Oxford, at 2.45pm.

He was not believed to be seriously hurt.

At 4.30pm, a 32-year-old motorcyclist had to be taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital after a collision with a car on the northbound A34 just north of the Hinksey Hill interchange. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Three people were taken to hospital after three cars collided at the junction of Alvescot Road and Corbett Road in Carterton at 4.55pm.

Two woman aged 37 and 28 and a man in his 40s were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with minor injuries.

A cyclist was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital after he collided with a car on Pringle Drive, Bicester, at 7.30pm. He was first taken to Bicester Hospital with a back injury and then transferred.

A 54-year-old motorcyclist was taken to the John Radcliffe after he collided with a car in Station Road, Alvescot at 5.24pm. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Oxfordshire Fire Service made a car safe after a one-vehicle accident on the A329 between Wheatley and Little Milton at 8.31am.

A 24-year-old man was taken to the John Radcliffe with minor injuries.

At 8.30am, they were called to a car on fire at the Checkendon junction of the A4130 near Nuffield.

No-one was trapped and they made it safe.
