Child prodigy Sufiah Yusof has been found safe and well, but is refusing to let her family know where she is.

The 15-year-old,missing since June 21, was tracked down by police to an Internet cafe in Bournemouth after a tipoff from staff.

She spent the night in the care of social services at an undisclosed place after refusing to see her parents. Her family, who live in Coventry, have been told she is alive and well, but police are respecting her wish that her whereabouts are not revealed.

Police spokesman Duncan McGraw said: "Miss Yusof has expressed a wish that no details of where she is are released and Thames Valley Police will respect this wish."

Earlier, Oxford area commander Supt David McWhirter had praised the officers involved in the hunt.

The runaway's father, Farooq Yusof, dismissed rumours that Sufiah may have run away through stress.
