Stewart Laudat's magnificent unbeaten 162 was the high point of a superb day's cricket at Rover Cowley in which over 550 runs were scored at a total cost of just eight wickets.
Electing to bat first, Cumnor totalled 275-5, with Graham Scott contributing 98 not out and Malcolm Evans making 82. Laudat, whose innings contained 22 fours and three sixes at faster than a run a ball, put on 159 for Rover's first wicket with Chris Thomas (43).
Then, with Mohsin Rana making 32, Rover reached 279-3 with two overs in hand.
