RADLEY'S A team returned from their Southern League Division 1 match at Bournemouth with 187 points which will keep them in the top five.

The only track personal best (pb) was achieved by Carolyn Plateau, who won the under 15 1,500m in 2.25.6.

Sister Natalie won the senior 100m B race in a season's best time of 12.6 secs, and also gained second place in the 200m A race in 25.9.

Sprint partner Kay Reynolds achieved a season's best time of 26 seconds when she won the senior 200m B race. She also gained a pb in the senior javelin with a throw of 25.58m.

Three other pbs were achieved in the throwing events by Dominique Lord (under 15 discus) with a winning throw of 28.39m, Jess Gilley (senior hammer) 20.75, and Paula Woodland (senior discus) 19.89. Ruth Clements broke the 70-second barrier in the hurdles with her best run for several years in a time of 69.8. She also broke the 16-second barrier in the 100m hurdles when she won the B race in 15.9 secs.

But the team made a magnificent effort, covering as many events as possible, to come second overall, beating third-placed Crawley by just half a point.

First places came from Lisa Newport in the 800m in a time of 2.36.4 and Lucy Sutton in the shot with a putt of 11.43m.

In the B string, Pippa Sprinz was first in the 800m in a time of 2.41.1.

Debutant Aisling Kealy ran 17.3 in the 100m, threw javelin 10.82 pb and the shot 4.80 pb.

In the senior events, Nickleson starred with two firsts in the shot and discus.
