Councillors confirmed their support for a 2.5m school merger after huge support from parents and residents.
Members of the county council education committee backed plans to combine Wantage Infant and Junior Schools.
The plans, which will see a new church primary school for 420 five to 11-year-olds on the junior school site in Newbury Street, Wantage, were approved by the committee in June.
