Twin brothers were jailed after beating up a man they mistakenly thought was in a relationship with one of their ex-girlfriends.

Paul Plucknett, 21, went to the home of Victoria Graham, who was the ex-girlfriend of his brother, Harley.

He banged on the door on September 28 at 10pm demanding to be let in and be told what was going on with her relationship with Paul, Peter Ross, prosecuting, told Oxford Crown Court yesterday.

When she told him to go away, he smashed the window in the front door, put his hand in and tried to unlock the door. Miss Graham had to force him out of the door.

Later the brothers, both of Jersey Road, Rosehill, went to Christopher Henry's house, in Warburg Crescent, Oxford, with two other men.

They searched the house looking for Sean Hendrickson, who they thought was now going out with Miss Graham.

Mr Ross said there was an argument between Paul Plucknett and Mr Henry and Plucknett punched Mr Henry in the face.

Mr Ross said Harley then punched Mr Henry five or six times with his fists. Another man then kicked Mr Henry.

Mr Nigel Daly, defending Harley, said the twins had taken a bat with them to Mr Henry's house and the opportunity was there to use it but they hadn't.

Miss Eleonor Duhs, defending Paul Plucknett, said he had shown genuine remorse.

Judge David Morton Jack jailed Paul Plucknett for ten months for assault causing actual bodily harm.

Harley Plucknett was jailed for 12 months for assault causing actual bodily harm and two months to be served constructively for criminal damage.
