Oxford United supporters are furious over the way that Joe Kinnear walked out of the club.

Kinnear cited family and health reasons for quitting the Manor Ground but seven days later had made a remarkable recovery to take over as the Luton Town manager.

And the Oxford faithful are not happy. We got their views before Saturday's local derby with Wycombe.

Neil Bursnoll, from Bicester, said: "It was wrong of Kinnear to do what he did. If he wanted to leave to join Luton, he should have been truthful and said that."

Chris Pearce, of Chinnor, said: "He obviously doesn't think that Oxford has got the potential he thought it might have.

"I'm disappointed that he's gone, but I suppose he's got to do whatever he feels happy with."

Hayley Main, of Iffley, said: "I don't think he helped much and is not a great loss.

"I don't really understand why he's done it."

Chris Bishop, of Headington, said: "Joe Kinnear was a personal friend of Firoz Kassam and that is why he got the job. In my book, he's not much a friend for what he's done.

"I don't think he'll be a great loss, but it was good to have a big name linked with the club to help attract players here.

Brian Harris, from Grove, said: "When will the fans know exactly what's going on? We're always kept in the dark and the last to know things.

"He promised this and promised that, but he has not delivered and so has gone on to better things."

Carol Jackson and Ian Ley, brother and sister, share the same view on Kinnear's exit.

"If he'd told us he was leaving because there was more money for him at Luton, that would have been better."
