With the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 title already safely in their grasp, Oxford lost their unbeaten home record in by going down 17-13 to fellow promoted club Milton Keynes.

Oxford struggled up front but still took an 8-0 half-time lead when Roy Telling's penalty goal was followed by a try by Andy MacDonald.

Milton Keynes went ahead with a penalty and converted try, before Oxford centre Nick Obolensky chipped over the defence for Dave Engwell to catch the ball and outstripped the defence for the try of the match.

Milton Keynes won the game with their second try from a line-out catch and drive, which was converted.

Gosford All Blacks completed their Division 2 programme with a 29-7 victory over Harwell.

A penalty try put Harwell ahead and they still led 7-5 at the interval, Greg Woodley scoring Gosford's try.

In the second half, Gosford moved the ball away from the efficient Harwell set-plays and were rewarded with tries from Woodley, Gavin Dee, Mark Hands and Steve Dee. Mark Busby added two conversions.
