Witney Town lost the first of their five away matches to be played this week, when they went 3-0 down to a Histon side who are undefeated in their last 14 games.

Histon took the lead in the 16th minute of this Dr Martens Eastern Division game after Mike Cook had given away a free kick 25 yards out.

The kick was hit hard across the face of Witney's goal and Saddington sent a glancing header past keeper Tom King.

A similar free kick a minute later was saved by King, while, at the other end, Harry Burnley had his shot saved from the edge of the box.

After more pressure by Histon, Kennedy connected with a cross from the left and made it 2-0 from close range.

Witney found it hard to break down the Histon defence, the best effort coming when Gary Murphy hit a powerful shot just over the bar.

Witney started the second half with Andy Keveren replacing the injured Geoff Neville.

Their best effort came when Jason Caffel volleyed, and Barber in the Histon goal made a great save to prevent the ball going into the top corner.

With 15 minutes left, Histon made the game safe with an attack that left Dominic Dunton facing three Histon forwards.

The ball was put through to Kennedy who coolly slotted the ball past King.
