A playgroup in Abingdon has received what it describes as "a glowing report" from Government school standards inspectors.
The Riverside Playgroup has been praised by Ofsted - the Office of Standards in Education - for good teaching and a well-organised and enthusiastic staff.
Inspectors also praised what they regarded as the effective partnership between staff, parents and carers which had brought "many positive contributions" to the children's progress in learning.
Julie Key and Julie Harris are joint supervisors of the playgroup, which has been providing pre-school education for children in south Abingdon for 30 years.
Mrs Key said: "We have always thought that the playgroup was a happy place for our children to learn and provide good preparation for school. It is nice to have all the hard work of the staff and parents' committee officially recognised by Ofsted inspectors."
