The Oxford Welsh Exiles, who raised money for charities in the city for more than 30 years, have made their final cheque presentation.

Choirs travelled from Wales to sing at the group's farewell concert and raised £750 for Oxsrad, in Marsh Lane, Marston, which provides sports and leisure facilities for disabled people in Oxford.

Membership secretary Geoffrey Nash said: "We have given to a lot of charities in Oxford over the years, but we have never before made a donation to Oxsrad, so we thought the centre would appreciate the funds because of the excellent work it does.

"We are all sad that this will be the group's last presentation because we all used to have a good night at the concerts. But we were just not able to cover the costs any longer."

The Oxford Welsh Exiles was founded by the late Idris Hughes in 1969, with the aim of raising funds for good causes in Oxford.

For 32 years, the has held two charity concerts annually in Oxford.
