A service was held at Wallingford's new post office on Tuesday to re-dedicate a war memorial plaque in honour of five local post office workers killed in the First World War.
The plaque had been displayed at the old post office in Market Place, but it was moved to the Lupton Road sorting office after Waitrose bought the old post office in February.
Members of the Wallingford and District Royal British Legion, including branch president Chris Prentice, attended the short service led by the Rev David Rice. Ron Calcutt, the Legion's branch chairman, said: "We are grateful to the post office for allowing us to keep the plaque in a prominent position where people will be able to see it."
Also in attendance were town councillor Betty Atkins, Mayor Denis Strange, and town clerk Andrew Rogers. The workers who died were F Beale, E T Newman, T W Broadway, W Sandall and C H Swell.
