Talented ballet dancer Amy Lawson will be returning to her native west Oxfordshire when she performs with other members of a top ballet school.

Amy, 18, of Aston, near Bampton, is in her final year at the Central School of Ballet in London, which will perform at The Theatre, Chipping Norton, on May 10 and 11.

The school is on tour around the country with a programme of dance ranging from ballet to contemporary and jazz.

Amy said: "I am very much looking forward to performing in my home area."

Central School of Ballet spokesman Anja Dobler told the Oxford Mail: "Amy is now in her final year and has already successfully auditioned for several international ballet companies."

Amy is a former pupil of the Jill Stew School of Dance in Witney.

Last year, she danced with the world-famous Kirov Ballet in Sleeping Beauty.

She also won the Molly Lake award and has modelled dancewear.
