Oxford City had double reason to celebrate after both their men's and ladies teams recorded victories over Abingdon in the top divisions of theWilson Inter-Club 3-Pair League.
Lucy Collinson, partnered by her sister Kate, won all three matches for Abingdon but still finished on the losing side
Lucy and Kate Collinson were in top form for Abingdon in the ladies' match, but couldn't save their side from crashing to a 6-3 defeat.
The Abingdon sisters romped through their six sets, dropping just 13 games. But of the other six rubbers, their teammates could only pick up half a point, which came courtesy of Lucy Morgan and Emma Lawrence-Jones.
For City, Gill Dean and Liz Sim dropped just two games in their four sets against Abingdon's lesser pairs.
Richard Gray and Geoffrey Deeley were unbeaten for City's men as they recorded a 7-2 success.
In the 2-Pair League, Benson edged to a 2-1 win over Kingston Bagpuize in Division 1. The second pair of Philippa Rowe and Ally Bremner secured the crucial half after both themselves and the first pair of Liz Bowles and Mandy Claridge had beaten Kingston's second pair.
