Villages are gearing up for May Day festivities this weekend.
In Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, a garden party is to be held on Saturday at Brightwell Manor from 2pm. A recital of songs and poetry in St Agatha's Church, by Sine Nomine, will round off the day at 7.30pm.
There will be revels in Cholsey on Sunday when Morris dancers arrive on The Forty at 11.45am.
After the May Queen has been crowned at noon, the party will move to the Recreation Ground for pony rides, Maypole dancing, children's entertainer Uncle Wiggy, sideshows and afternoon tea.
The 16th annual fun run will start at 2.30pm, with the May Queen presenting prizes at around 4pm.
Cholsey's event is being organised by Cholsey 1000 Plus, St Mary's Church, Cholsey School and Preschool, the Day Centre and Cholsey Bluebirds.
