Residents of Haddenham are waiting for a new postmaster to take over the management of the post office in Churchway.
Other closures in Oxfordshire include post offices in Tackley, Bladon, Freeland and Ducklington. The owners of the Radley post office are also keen to sell up but are struggling to find buyers.
The Government announced an aid package to save rural post offices last year after it was announced that they were closing at a rate of 200 per week nationally.
Another concern for postmasters is the fear that they will lose 40 per cent of their business when banks take over the handling of benefits payments in 2003.
