RD RACING, new sponsors of the greyhounds Cesarewitch stayers event, which makes its bow at Oxford in November, have put up a superb special annual trophy.

The race, which was previously held at Belle Vue and latterly Catford, will be run over the 645 metre course.

The trophy is of two brass greyhounds in racing action which the winners will hold onto for a year, but they also receive a souvenir trophy to keep.

Meanwhile, still with the open race scene, dual Derby winner Rapid Ranger, is set to make an appearance at Cowley on the Oxfordshire Gold Cup finals night, which is being covered live by Sky Sports.

The Charlie Lister-trained supremo has been retired to stud and will probably command a stud fee of £1,000 to selected bitches.

Pall Mall winner Kinda Magic was only four spots off the Romford track record last week and is a probable William Hill Gold Cup entry.
