A double dose of blistering noise from The Lost Prophets and fellow band Skindred made for another mega metal night at The Zodiac, writes Kate Hartshorn.

First on the bill Skindred blew me away. In previous incarnations, they were known as Dubwar, a band renound for their individual mix of raggae and metal.

They played a fantastic set, every song packed with energy and Benje's distinctive raggae-infused vocals.

They were very energetic, entertaining and with the Zodiac packed to bursting point they played an incredible set leaving the audience shouting for more - Skindred will be a name people will remember for a long time to come.

The Lost Prophets returned again to their 'second home' in Oxford. They have, in recent months, become one of Britain's most talked about bands, due to play the Reading festival this year, and have already supported bands such as Run DMC and Linkin' Park.

Since first playing Oxford last year, The Lost Prophets have grown as musicians and they're now incredibly confident. Although they fall into the bracket of 'nu-metal', there are definite leanings towards legendary band Faith No More, but there is enough of their own sound mixed in to make it original and refreshing to listen to.

They played favorites Shinobivsdragonninja and Kobraki, from theire latest album The Fake Sound Of Progress, which was met by huge enthusiasm.

The Lost Prophets are destined to go far.
