HORSPATH repeated history after completing a hat-trick of British under 19 team championship wins at Sandwell.

The victory goes alongside their 1999 win at Poole, and last year's triumph at Horspath.

It is only the third time in the competition's 42 year history that the feat has been achieved.

A nervy qualifier was eventually won by the Oxfordshire quintet, the highlight of which was a superb 20-point maximum by Mark Boaler, who had scored two maximums the previous week in the club's unsuccesful bid in the under 16 category.

Scorers: Horspath 59 (Boaler 20, W Hutt 15, S Beesley 12, D Beesley 8, R Gregory 4), Bury 57, Sandwell 57, Hethersett 54, Sandwell B 31, Leicester 23.

In the final, Boaler picked up three more wins, while skipper Gregory Hutt and Steven Beesley all recorded two each in a very polished performance, which allowed reserve Dave Beesley to have an outing as the title was clinched with two heats still to go.

Scorers: Horspath 49 (R Gregory 12, W Hutt 14, M Boaler 13, S Beesley 9 D Beesley 1), Hethersett 42, Bury 35 Sandwell 31).

HORSPATH completed their 2001 Premier League season with a 93-83 defeat at Oasis, Swindon.

Led by Steven Beesley there was a fine performance from 12-year-old Ryan Taylor and good backing from Hutt, Boaler and Keith Snelling.

Scores: W Hutt 15+1, D Beesley 8+2, K Snelling 12, M Boaler 12, R Taylor 11+1, S Beesley 17 R Snelling 3, Rachel Edge 5+1.

In the combination match Horspath gave away too many penalty points but did win on the day, with a fine piece of team riding from Boaler and ten-year-old Rachel Edge, who scored a brilliant 14+1.

Scores: R Taylor 19, D Taylor 6+1, D Beesley 16, R Snelling 5, M Boaler 14+2, Rachel Edge 14+1.
