More than 100 prizes were given to sixth-formers at Lord Williams's School, Thame, for excellence in academic, sporting, artistic and community activities.

Guests at the awards evening included former deputy head David Jones, who has just become head of Gosford Hill School after 25 years at Lord Williams's, and former chairman of governors Jane Bugg.

Head teacher Michael Spencer praised pupils and staff for the A-level pass rate of 93 per cent, with over 40 per cent achieving A or B grades.

The top academic award went jointly to Charlotte Eaton of Aston Rowant and Gareth Jones of Thame who both achieved five grade As at A-level.
