Swimming: Rosie sets the pace in super Witney victory

Witney's dominance was highlighted in the relays where they took first places in 11 of the 13 events.

In the 10 and under age group, Rosie Owen recorded two excellent wins in the girls freestyle and breaststroke and earned herself the swimmer of the match award. Francois Clavaud and Daniel Harkin shared the runner-up vote.

Personal bests: S Duffin, L Gorman, K Herbert, T Brooke-Hollidge, J Everett, M Kemp.

Gala result: 1 Witney 290 pts, 2 Bromsgrove 232, 3 Kingsbury 214, 4 Stourbridge 173, 5 Fox Hollies 137.

Kidlington & Gosford found the going tough at Leamington where they came joint fifth in a junior relay gala.

The one bright spot came in the ten-year boys medley relay where Tom McArthur managed to anchor his teammates Sam Fowler, Bradley Hills and Lewis Fraser to victory, despite having four of the opposing teams breathing down his neck.

Result: 1 Solihull 153 pts; 2 Leamington Spa 126; 3 Camp Hill 97; 4 Warley 92; 5= Kidlington & Gosford 78; 5= Redditch 78.
