Residents in West Oxfordshire are being urged to make sure that they are on the register of electors, so they can cast their vote in the May elections.
However, if their name is not on the register, they must give their names to the district council no later than March 12.
Boundary changes mean all 49 seats on West Oxfordshire District Council are up for election.
There will also be elections for 17 parish councils.
People can check if their names are on the register at the council's offices in Wood Green, or Church Green, Witney, or the Guildhall, in Chipping Norton.
The council's electoral registration officer, Geoff Bonner, said: "People new to the district, for example, may not be registered.
"We would urge all those eligible to make sure they can claim their vote."
