Oxford Cheetahs have been denied the chance to add the Premiership Trophy to their Elite League title last year, having finally admitted defeat in their bid to fulfil this year's clash against Knockout Cup winners Peterborough.
No available date was forthcoming from Peterborough, who could not accommodate their leg at the East of England ground.
Cheetahs' promoter Vanessa Purchase said: "Obviously, this is desperately disappointing news for all parties as these meetings are an excellent way to really get your season going. However, after exhausting all the avenues open to us, we have had to finally admit defeat.
"It also means that we now have a blank date on March 22 and I am having to work hard to try and sort that out."
The teams meet in the Good Friday fixture home and away which could have served as a double header, but apparently the idea was unworkable.
