Seven air force personnel from RAF Benson are taking part in the London Marathon this year, most of them for charities.
They will run in the Reading Half-Marathon on March 10 in preparation for the April event. Flt Lt Ian Douglas will be raising money for the National Foetal Anti-convulsive Syndrome Association. His daughter, Emily, 11, has suffered problems caused by the anti-convulsive drugs taken by her mother before she was born.
The other runners are Flt Lt Leah Griffin, Flt Lt Jason Clark, Flt Sgt Mick Harris, junior technician Taz Horne, LAC Dan Parry and SAC James Youldon.
