A record eight teams scored more than 90 points in the Oxford Mail Pub Quiz League.

The highest score of the week, 99 points, was recorded by the Bicester Civil Service team.

Their opponents, from The Woodman at North Leigh, ended the night with 91 -- a score which would have beaten many other teams.

In other divisions, the league positions remain close.

In the North-west Division three teams are within one point of top place.

The Crown, Church Enstone, leads the division but both teams chasing them, The Blue Boar, Chipping Norton, and The Plough, Kingham, have a game in hand.

In the Oxford Division, the Jolly Postboys are still in first place with the Shelley Arms leapfrogging St Cross College to move into second place.

Meanwhile, in the East Division, the Red Lion, Haddenham, continue to maintain their lead of two points over the Kings Arms, Wheatley.

The quarter finals of the Knockout Cup will take place on March 7.

The draw is Woodman v Thatched Tavern, Woodstock Arms v Bicester Civil Service, St Cross College v Plough, Dashwood Arms v Rose & Crown.
