Bob Freeman and Ian Mold, runners-up 12 months ago, went one better this year to win Chipping Norton's Winter League with a remarkable average of 44.6 points per round.
The highlight was an exceptional score of 49 in the seventh of the eight qualifying rounds. Despite a poor score of 33 in the final round, nobody could overtake them.
Jackie Stringer scored a hole-in-one at Bicester Golf & Country Club's 13th hole on her way to victory over Marilyn Brownlow in the semi-final of the ladies' winter league. She took a seven iron for the shot over the water for her first ace.
