Former Oxfordshire cricketer Leslie Carter, who played for Cowley St John for 30 years, had died at the age of 95.
Mr Carter, who played a number of games for the county before the Second World War, regularly opened the batting for Cowley Jacks, before serving as club secretary.
He also became an Oxfordshire selector at about the time his son John, a well-known county cricketer himself, made his debut as a 17-year-old.
After leaving Oxford Boys School, Mr Carter went to work in the bursar's office at The Queen's College, Oxford, where he spent more than 50 years.
Until recently he spent all his married life at the family home in Staunton Road, Headington. He leaves a widow, Con, son John, daughter Susan, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held at All Saints Church, Lime Walk, Headington, on March 7 (12.30pm).
Ernie Busby, from Combe, a former chairman and life vice-president of the OCA League, has died at the age of 93.
