A group set up with the aim of improving life in Oxfordshire will meet for the first time tomorrow.
More than 100 members of the Oxfordshire Community Partnership will discuss improving the delivery of services at a meeting at Templeton College, Kennington.
The OCP is a strategic partnership includes representatives from the county council, district councils, police and the health sector, as well as the private and voluntary sectors and members of the local community.
It will identify priorities such as:
Affordable housing
Skills shortages
Transport pressures.
A community strategy will then be developed for the county that sets local priorities and programmes for public sector agencies. Prof Graham Upton, vice-chancellor of Oxford Brookes University, who chairs the steering group of the OCP, said: "All of us have a part to play in making Oxfordshire an even better place to live. By working together in the OCP we can make a real difference to the people who live and work in Oxfordshire."
Following consultation later this year, a finalised Community Strategy will be published. It will serve as an action plan to guide government, employers, voluntary organisations and individuals.
