Young skateboarders in Marcham, near Abingdon, keen to establish facilities for skate sports in the village are being asked to complete a questionnaire so the parish council can assess the need.

The council has been asked if an area for skateboarders, in-line skaters and BMX bike fans can be set up in the Anson field behind the play area.

But it says it needs to gauge local opinion and examine costs before committing itself. To find out how other areas manage similar facilities, two members of the parish council are to visit skate parks in and around Oxford.

Questionnaires can be collected from parish council chairman Malcolm Denton at 10 Kings Avenue, or clerk Linda Martin at Orchard House, 90 Howard Cornish Road, Marcham.
