Details of a footbridge across the River Thames between Shillingford and Dorchester will go on show to the public.

The Keen Edge Footbridge Development Trust has planning permission and funding to build the bridge, which will link sections of the Thames Path.

On Friday, June 21, between 2pm and 5pm, the exhibition will focus on technical aspects of the bridge. Architects and engineers will be available to answer questions.

The following day, between 10am and noon, the exhibition, at the Shillingford Bridge Hotel, will reopen for people to see the plans and a model. The new bridge will re-establish the link which used to be provided by the Keen Edge ferry, meaning walkers on the Thames long distance trail will not have to negotiate busy roads to cross the river.

Trust chairman David Moren-Brown said: "The footbridge will make the Thames Path a safer and more enjoyable route."
