OxMediaNet, the Oxford-based business advice and information service, and The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), are holding a digital television forum at the Said Business School in Oxford, on Wednesday (June 19), from 1.30pm.
The event, featuring key players from the digital television industry, is open to people with an interest in the future of this medium.
Speakers on the day include Victoria Real, developers of the Big Brother website, and Serco, the UK's largest independent usability consultancy and specialists in testing interactive television services. There will also be an opportunity to put questions to the panel of experts.
The demand for digital television is growing, with the Government aiming to switch off analogue transmissions by 2010. The forum will explore the issues currently facing the industry and ask how can they be addressed.
The Oxford DiTV Headstart event also offers an informal networking opportunity for visitors to meet spokespeople from companies leading the way in the digital sector.
Course leaders from the University of Brighton will be on hand to discuss the UK's first MSc in Digital Television Management and Production, along with a series of continuous professional development (CPD) courses.
Tickets for the Headstart Event are available at £35, £50 for two or £15 for students and can be booked by emailing Wendy Nikolaidis on wendy@oxmedianet.net.
