A man who stole £1,500 of electrical goods from an Oxford house has been given a suspended sentence.
Stewart Lygo, 23, took a laptop computer, a television and other items, from a flat in Wykeham Crescent, Cowley, in May 1999.
The intruders were disturbed by a neighbour and most of the goods were recovered after being abandoned nearby, Oxford Crown Court heard.
Lygo, an unemployed father-of-two of Blackbird Leys Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to burglary.
He was given one year's custody, suspended for 12 months, with six months' compulsory supervision by the probation service.
