A jury was expected to start considering its verdict in a murder trial at Oxford Crown Court on July 4.
Sheridan Green, 30, is alleged to have murdered Anthony Dale, 33, by stabbing him in the heart and stamping on his head on December 22 last year.
The prosecution alleges Green, of Craufurd Road, Cowley, Oxford, was jealous of his partner Davina's friendship with Mr Dale, who lived in Abingdon.
Green denies murder.
Judge Peter Crawford was expected to complete his summing-up today.
