Former international athlete John Regis will open Chipping Norton's new leisure centre next week.

He will unveil a plaque commemorating the completion of the £4.7m project on Thursday.

The centre has a main hall with a sprung-wood floor, a 25m swimming pool with an adjustable depth facility, an outside multi-use games area, fitness suite, three squash courts, and a studio for dance, gymnastics, and martial arts.

The building was funded by the National Sports Lottery (£2.6m), West Oxfordshire District Council (£1.9m) and contributions from Chipping Norton School, Oxfordshire County Council, and local fundraising.

The centre will be open to the public from Friday, and people will be able to use the facilities free between 10am-5pm on Saturday at an open day.
